We are pleased to announce that Tufts University will be hosting the first Open Geoportal National Summit 2013 on October 27th (Sunday) and 28th (Monday) in Boston, Massachusetts. The OGP National Summit is funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The OGP Summit is intended to be a working meeting to advance OGP-related technology expertise, governance and collaboration.
The OGP summit will be comprised of affinity group working sessions, ignite sessions, general discussions, and technical training in specific OGP-related technology. The break out sessions will be organized by affinity groups: Application Development, Geospatial Metadata Authoring and Standards, Governance, and Geospatial Data. The ignite sessions are intended to “ignite” discussion around issues related geospatial data management. We will also be offering technical training in OGP-related technology such as GeoServer, Solr, metadata authoring, etc. In addition we will be offering more technical sessions/workshops in OGP application development. We will have a full agenda available shortly.

Registration is limited to 50 participants. If you would like to attend the Open Geoportal National Summit, please fill out the following registration form. We will notify you shortly about your application to attend the OGP Summit. Please register by October 12th, 2013.

LOCATION
The summit will be held in downtown Boston at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, One Kneeland Street, Boston, MA 02111. Here is a map of the location.
ACCOMMODATIONS
A small block of Summit rooms are available through the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston – Downtown under the Tufts Open Geoportal National Summit. The Summit rate is $189 per night plus an additional $12.95 per day for wireless Internet. There are many other hotels around the area.
TRANSPORTATION FROM LOGAN AIRPORT
1. Take the T (Boston Subway)
MBTA: Option 1: Take Silverline 1 (SL1) to South Station. Take Silverline 4 (SL4) to Tufts Medical Center
MBTA: Option 2: Take Mp33 MassPort Shuttle to Airport Station (Blue Line). Take Blue Line T (Subway) to State Street Station. Take Orange Line to Tufts Medical Center (20 mins. approx.). This is an easy route.
PARKING
Tufts Medical Center Parking at 274 Tremont Street.
$19 per day with validation
Sloan funded participants will receive parking vouchers.
